New York Hiking Trails You Need To Check Out This Fall

It’s officially Fall and we couldn’t be more excited! If you live in NYC like us, we’re sure you’ve already started penciling in dates for apple picking, strolls in Central Park, and all the coffee shop stops for your pumpkin spice lattes.

If you’re up for something a little more adventurous, we highly recommend hitting a few trails. The following are just a short train or car ride away from the city and offer up some pretty spectacular views. 

Rockefeller Preserve Trail
Level: Easy

If climbing up a mountain just isn’t your jam but you’re craving a picturesque hike, we definitely recommend this one. It offers easy walking paths in a one point five mile loop around Swan Lake, making it perfect for all ages and even your four legged friends!

Anthony’s Nose
Level: Moderate

Talk about some gorgeous views! Anthony’s nose is a nearly two mile hike up Bear Mountain ending with panoramic views of the Hudson Valley and Bear Mountain Bridge. The walk uphill is a bit strenuous with lots of rocks, but once you make it up the initial incline, the path is much easier. If you’re looking for good snaps for the 'gram, this is your trail!

Verkeerderkill Falls Trail Hike
Level: Hard

Looking to spend all day hiking? This eight mile loop trail featuring a little lake and a large waterfall might just be your cup of tea. Be prepared to see ice caves, lots of cliffs, and even some wild blueberries during the Summer months. You’ll be exhausted by the end of it, but will the incredible ecosystem and views will make it worthwhile.
