SO YOU HAD ONE (or five) too many last night. Now your head is pounding, your stomach churning, and getting out of bed seems impossible. While there's no way to completely avoid a hangover if you've had too much to drink, there are ways to get rid of it quickly without running to the medicine cabinet. Try one or a combination of these natural remedies, and you'll be back to your perky self before you know it.
HYDRATE & REPLENISH ELECTROLYTES
Drink plenty of water and drinks that contain electrolytes, which will help your muscles and body rehydrate more efficiently. Coconut water and coconut milk are both high in electrolytes and a tasty way to recover.
TAKE A WARM BATH
A warm (not hot) bath will help to soothe any tight muscles, especially those around the neck that contribute to headaches. Keep the temperature moderate to be sure you're not sweating too much, and make use of a relaxing aromatherapy soak to enhance the experience.

MOVE YOUR BODY
Light, low impact exercise increases blood and oxygen flow throughout the body. Don't go too hard, though. A moderate walk or yoga class will raise your energy levels and get some endorphins pumping. Be sure to hydrate throughout.
HAIR OF THE DOG
Not our most highly recommended option, but when you're in a pinch, a light mimosa or cocktail will help curb the symptoms. Just don't indulge in more than one! We recommend this Spicy Lemonade Spritzer. The dash of cayenne pepper in it will both aid in detoxing the alcohol from your system as well as ease an upset stomach or any other digestive issues you may be having.

DETOX WITH BEETS
Beets are known for their power to detoxify the blood and liver, but they're also high in immune-boosting vitamins and minerals like potassium and manganese, which help replenish electrolytes. Roast up some of the vibrant red vegetable or try a juiced version.
RELIEVE PAIN WITH OREGANO
Before you head to the medicine cabinet for some Tylenol, consider oregano. It's a natural pain reliever, so if you want an excuse to eat spaghetti with a spiced marinara, this is probably your best one. You can also take it in tablet, oil or liquid form.
