Staying organized throughout the year will help you feel less cluttered, both physically and mentally. With the popularity of shows like Marie-Kondo on Netflix and home organization services like Horderly mean that staying organized is now a mainstream practice that people are prioritizing.
According to The Container Store's blog, the three rules to organization are visibility, accessibility, and flexibility. Read on to see my tips for staying organized.
1) Tackle One Room At A Time
You may want to organize your entire home, but it's better to focus on one area at a time. Prioritize the room if it's the one that's always causing you the most stress, then once you're finished you can celebrate the victory and move onto the next one.
2) Take Inventory of Everything You Have
Often times we don't even realize how much we have since it has piled up over the course of a few months or even years. A big step to staying organized is taking inventory. By taking inventory, you're then able to assess what you want to keep.
3) Donate Or Throw Out Items You No Longer Use
It's easy to hold on to items, especially if they are hiding in a drawer or closet somewhere. Once you've taken inventory, decide what you want to keep, throw away or donate. As the saying goes, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." If your items are in good condition, but you no longer want them, take them to a local shelter.
4) Use Storage Bins
Storage bins and containers are a great way to conserve space and keep your items in place. You can use them in your closet, kitchen, and dressers. Use glass containers for your pantry items so you can easily see what each item is.

5) Label Your Items
A key way to stay organized is to label your items and storage boxes. This way, you know exactly where to look for things and they are categorized.
